About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the organization’s enterprise risk management framework
  • Implement and continuously improve enterprise risk management processes
  • Conduct complex risk analysis, reporting, and advisory support for senior management and internal stakeholders
  • Support the annual ERM planning cycle and define risk priorities, assessment activities, reporting expectations, and governance calendars
  • Monitor enterprise risks, ownership, escalation paths, mitigation actions, approval conditions, and follow-up requirements
  • Identify and evaluate emerging risks involving generative AI, machine learning, autonomous systems, data, cybersecurity, models, third parties, and technology architecture
  • Manage risk intake and assessment activities for enterprise initiatives and AI use cases
  • Coordinate cross-functional risk reviews across ERM, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Model Governance, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, technology teams, and business partners
  • Determine appropriate governance review pathways based on materiality and risk
  • Assess safeguards, human oversight, control effectiveness, residual risk, evidence gaps, and control weaknesses
  • Develop risk reports, analyses, dashboards, executive briefings, and recommendations
  • Prepare Board and committee risk materials, including quarterly Audit Committee updates and annual full-Board reports
  • Support enterprise AI governance leadership and coordinate the cross-functional AI Council
  • Draft risk acceptance conditions, escalation recommendations, decision records, and practical guidance
  • Develop and maintain enterprise risk and AI governance policies, procedures, standards, playbooks, templates, risk tiers, intake criteria, review methods, and control documentation
  • Respond to external ERM compliance, information, and reporting requirements
  • Promote clear risk ownership, consistent governance practices, reusable evidence, accountability, and cross-functional coordination

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6+ years of proven experience in risk management, insurance, financial analysis, actuarial, underwriting, product management, or related experience
  • Prior experience in Enterprise Risk Management strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with operational, product, and financial measures and models, including analysis of results
  • Ability to collaborate with personnel from end users to executive management
  • Ability to influence outcomes with or without formal authority
  • Ability to build business case scenarios
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of CSAA IG business strategy
  • Broad actuarial skillset with deep understanding of pricing, reserving, ERM, statutory accounting, and risk and return concepts
  • Relevant certifications preferred, including ARM, ARe, CPCU, FRM, or ACAS
  • Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States
  • CSAA does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Ability to travel as needed, including divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings
