About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a business consultant and partner to Entrepreneurial Agents by providing tactical and strategic support
  • Become a subject matter expert on the Connected Member Vision, products and sales
  • Assist agents with agency business goals and implementation
  • Drive agency success, retention, productivity and growth
  • Support profitable new business acquisition, sales growth, retention, compliance and reporting
  • Build relationships with agents and internal and external business partners
  • Source, refer and interview local Entrepreneurial Agent candidates
  • Liaise with centralized training and field support teams on administrative and training activities
  • Support installation and onboarding when opening new agencies
  • Assist new agencies with post-launch business development
  • Coordinate initial training and provide additional training or coaching as needed
  • Ensure agents understand sales systems, product offerings, marketing procedures and back-office processes
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and participate in training assessment and information development/distribution
  • Communicate sales incentive programs, compensation outcomes and contractual bonus opportunities
  • Monitor agency activities and prepare data summary reports
  • Conduct site visits, cash-flow analyses and needs assessments/diagnostics
  • Research and analyze sales markets
  • Create cultivation plans and recommend strategic/tactical solutions with agents
  • Audit agent activity for compliance with corporate policies, practices and state regulations
  • Advise leadership on agent progress and report non-compliant activity
  • Recommend or activate probationary processes or termination recommendations when necessary
  • Complete accurate written call notes
  • Support product and membership promotional campaigns
  • Initiate, develop, execute and monitor projects
  • Provide management updates
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent, efficient processes across the corporate footprint
  • Travel by automobile up to 70% of work time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s license
  • Currently hold or be able to attain and maintain appropriate State Property & Casualty licenses within the timeframe designated by ACG leadership
  • May be required to attain appropriate State Life Sales licenses within the timeframe designated by ACG leadership
  • Two years of experience in insurance sales leadership and/or agent development, including coaching, mentoring, challenging and enabling others to successfully meet goals
  • Experience motivating growth or rehabilitation of existing agencies
  • Experience developing plans to increase growth
  • Experience building business relationships within a sales environment
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management and administrative skills
  • Experience gathering, researching and analyzing data and making recommendations
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and process improvement reviews
  • Experience writing business plans/proposals
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations and recommendations for all levels of management
  • In-depth knowledge of techniques to influence and persuade others; develop and coach others; motivate and reward successful sales teams
  • Knowledge of insurance and financial products, services and regulations
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and delivery systems
  • Knowledge of independent contractor distribution channels
  • Knowledge of techniques used to coordinate and control major projects
  • Knowledge of business drivers, marketing concepts, P&L management, operational processes and compensation plan design
  • Ability to influence, persuade and motivate non-employee agents
  • Ability to identify agent strengths and weaknesses and facilitate agency rehabilitation
