About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and investigate high-profile and complex employee relations cases
- Develop and implement advanced employee relations strategies and processes
- Serve as investigator, team lead/mentor, and project lead for major ER processes
- Conduct interviews with accused individuals, witnesses, and reporting persons
- Synthesize investigative findings into detailed reports and data-driven recommendations
- Maintain confidential investigation records and data integrity in the case management system
- Ensure investigative processes comply with employment laws and company policies
- Advise HR leadership, legal counsel, and management on complex employee relations issues
- Design and implement training on investigative techniques, legal compliance, and conflict resolution
- Analyze employee relations trends and recommend strategic interventions
- Mentor junior team members
- Confer with the Office of the General Counsel regarding Civil Rights complaints and EEOC charges
- Serve as a subject matter expert in judicial proceedings when called upon
- Review complex disciplinary actions for policy compliance and risk mitigation
- Lead and support Reduction in Force and Job Reassignment processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, law or a related field
- Certified investigator (AWI) or ability to obtain designation within 1 year
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an Employee Relations role
- Experience solving complex investigations
- Experience coaching managers and employees
- Experience in a highly regulated industry or large-scale organization
- In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws governing investigations and related personnel matters
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulations including ADA, FLSA, EEO, FMLA, Title VII and other related statutes
- Ability to recognize and define problems, gather and analyze sophisticated data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Unquestionable integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Expertise in investigative methodologies, including witness interviewing, credibility assessment and report writing
- Advanced conflict-resolution skills with a proven track record of resolving high-stakes employee relations issues
- Background and drug screen required upon offer
- Regular and reliable attendance is essential
- Advanced degree (Master’s in HR, JD) preferred
- HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Knowledge of ACG personnel policies and procedures preferred
