About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain, upgrade, and support the organization’s insurance business
Make system updates to the Mainframe Insurance application
Assist with converting the Insurance business from the Mainframe platform to the Guidewire P&C Insurance application
Refine system change requirements
Attend design sessions
Present ideas to groups with diverse roles and skill levels
Exchange ideas with team members
Provide application production environment support on a rotational daytime and nighttime schedule
Participate in daily standup meetings
Complete projects or stories during sprints
Meet frequent deployment deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with COBOL programming in a Z/OS Mainframe environment
Ability to analyze programs and understand the current state of applications
Experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS, ISPW, and other mainframe application development skills
Experience working with an Agile team or understanding of Agile concepts
Proficiency in mainframe application development tools such as Sycnsort, Xpediter, SAR, FileAid, and Abend-Aid
Prior experience in Insurance/Property-Casualty domain-related domains
Willingness and desire to learn new skills
