About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate company vehicles equipped with methane/ethane sensors and specialized equipment to identify and locate potential natural gas emissions across assigned survey areas
- Use detection data to conduct on-foot surveys, detect emissions, grade findings, and log results
- Provide flexible coverage and support across service regions in Kansas City MO, St. Louis MO, Birmingham AL, and Gulf Coast AL
- Balance workload, cover vacations, and meet contracted survey commitments
- Work directly with gas utility customers to identify and solve operational issues
- Communicate service timelines and expectations and deliver customer service
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights
- Perform installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and unplanned maintenance of ABB equipment
- Record findings, create detailed technical reports, and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Complete field service reports, timesheets, expense reports, and other required documentation
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 1+ Years of field experience in a customer facing technical support role is required
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% as required
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain valid passport and driver's license
- Prior experience in the natural gas utility industry, with a focus on sustainability initiatives, technological innovations, and regulatory compliance, is highly desirable
- Proven ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and convey technical information to non-technical audiences
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Product Management, Sales, and Business Development
- Good interpersonal skills and aptitude for teamwork
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is required
- Must pass an evaluation to become Operator Qualified; training and opportunities to pass these tasks will be provided
- Candidates must already have work authorization permitting them to work for ABB in the US
