About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support global sourcing initiatives and category strategies for electronic components across ABB's Smart Power division
- Define, develop, and implement global sourcing strategies for Active, Passive, and Power Electronic Components
- Collaborate with Agile Teams and R&D on component selection, sourcing strategies, and supply-risk mitigation across the product lifecycle
- Lead global RFQ/RFP processes, cost benchmarking, TCO analyses, and commercial negotiations with electronic component and semiconductor suppliers
- Develop and maintain long-term agreements and strategic supplier relationships
- Support supplier onboarding, evaluation, and performance management
- Monitor semiconductor market trends, component lifecycles, and supplier performance to manage risk and ensure supply continuity
- Drive cost savings through competitive sourcing, volume consolidation, design-to-cost, and value engineering programs
- Support digital supply chain visibility through analytics and reporting
- Provide regular category performance updates to senior management
- Ensure compliance with ABB procurement policies, trade compliance requirements, and supplier sustainability standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, electronic components, or supply chain roles within EMS manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturers, or similar industries
- Highly skilled in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, and supplier relationship management within the electronic components and semiconductor market
- Enhanced knowledge of electronic components, PCBA sourcing, market dynamics, and semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or a related field
- Ease communicating in English
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20–30%
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent are a plus
- Additional languages such as Italian, French, Chinese, or German are an advantage
