About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide HSE advice, guidance and support to managers, project teams, service teams and employees
- Facilitate HSE risk assessments and support implementation of preventive measures for project and service activities
- Lead and support incident reporting, investigations and lessons learned activities
- Support internal and external audit programmes, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance
- Drive behavioural change and continuous improvement initiatives promoting a positive HSE and wellbeing culture
- Deliver HSE training, coaching and awareness activities
- Collaborate with UK and Northern European HSE teams to share best practice and contribute to strategic HSE objectives
- Support HSE-related projects and provide progress reporting against agreed objectives and KPIs
- Travel regularly to ABB locations and customer sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management (or equivalent qualification), or currently working towards achieving it
- Demonstrable experience in a health, safety and environmental role within project and/or service environments, ideally within the energy sector
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation and industry standards
- Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Knowledge of ISO 50001 would be advantageous
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across a matrix organisation
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for driving continuous improvement in HSE performance and wellbeing
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to ABB and customer sites as required
