About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own on-time, in-full delivery for a high-volume manufacturing business end to end, from demand and replenishment through production, inventory, warehouse and shipment.
  • Co-own the outcome with an SAP solution lead as equals.
  • Decide what gets fixed and in what order, while the SAP solution lead decides how it is built.
  • Change the processes, rules and systems behind the delivery outcome.
  • Find the root cause of every missed order using data and fix causes rather than expediting symptoms.
  • Set priorities for what gets fixed, built, switched off or replaced, including business rules such as stock allocation.
  • Manage change across plants, distribution centers and system teams that do not report to you.
  • Run one- to two-month experiments, retain what improves the outcome and discontinue what does not.
  • Report results honestly to business leaders, including what is not working.
  • Work with the Installation Products business sponsor, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Distribution and Customer Service, Sales, Finance and Information Systems.
  • Report to the Vice President of IT and work directly with a business sponsor in Installation Products.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing or distribution in planning, scheduling, inventory, fulfillment, order management or operations.
  • 3+ years accountable for an operational result such as on-time in-full, fill rate, promise accuracy or inventory.
  • Ability to follow an order from demand to shipment across plants and distribution centers and identify where it gets stuck.
  • Experience with make-to-stock, make-to-order or both valued.
  • Experience tracing delivery misses with data, finding the real cause, and implementing a lasting fix.
  • Hands-on SAP experience in order fulfillment as a user, power user or process lead.
  • Experience building data tools such as analyses, dashboards, automations or AI workflows that others use.
  • Curiosity, willingness to adjust, and openness to new information in ambiguity.
  • Ability to demonstrate impact by sharing an outcome with a peer and building partnership rather than ownership boundaries.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to move between a plant manager, a sales leader and an SAP team in the same day.
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
  • Ability to work in North American time zones.
