About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and improve DPPM and testing first pass yield targets
- Track ABB complaints close rate and drive EMS reduction of recurring issues
- Drive improvement on ABB audit findings, including SQP and self-routing inspection
- Lead quality improvement projects using systematic management methodology
- Improve EMS supplier quality from an IQC perspective and define CTQs by category with product and mechanical engineers
- Coordinate EMS and ABB on complex process/testing issues for on-time delivery
- Communicate regularly with EMS PJM to identify delivery risks and align with the ABB responsible party
- Configure testing for new variants and change test sequences/limits
- Support EMS with complex ad-hoc issue problem solving and production failure overviews
- Support ECN execution, including new firmware verification
- Review new ICT fixture coverage and support PCBA FCT and boxbuild testing issue resolution
- Review PPAP for SMT, Wave, Coating, and related processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor or master’s degree in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation
- Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience in PCBA provider or Drives industry
- Solid knowledge of SMT, Wave Soldering, Coating, ICT/FCT, PPAP, IPC standards
- Knowledge of Variable speed drives, Servo drive or similar industrial products
- Familiarity with production testing language Python, LabVIEW, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills using 8D, 5Why, and Fishbone
- LSS green belt preferred
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
- Fluent English and writing skills are must
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
