About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead execution of projects with different complexities
- Ensure activities comply with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety and environment requirements, cost/profitability targets, and schedules
- Define project plan documents jointly with Project Controls, including scope and financial plans, schedules, and risk management plans
- Monitor and control project progress, resource utilization, financials, invoicing status, costs, expenses, and cash flow
- Identify, qualify, quantify, and manage risks and pursue opportunities
- Capture, analyze, and share lessons learned
- Ensure formal project closeout according to contractual requirements
- Drive formal project acceptance, contract closeout, and customer acknowledgment
- Apply contract and claims management in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements
- Procure required services, materials, and equipment from internal and external suppliers
- Support Supply Chain Management with negotiations, claims, and project changes
- Act as key customer contact and escalation point for project issues
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering background with at least 5+ years of experience as Project Manager
- Good knowledge in automation, electrical and hydro power systems
- Proactivity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a resource-constrained environment
- Ability to manage many projects concurrently, set priorities, and be goal oriented
- Ownership and commitment in all tasks
- Ability to understand customer needs
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance
- Experience with project management tools and ERP systems; SAP preferred
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in technical and commercial contexts
- PM certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA are a plus
- Ease communicating in Italian and English
- Availability for short trips in Italy and abroad, up to 30% of the time
