About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to R&D projects for the development and evolution of ABB's RCCB platform, from concept definition through product validation
- Design electromechanical solutions for next-generation protection devices
- Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical documentation using CATIA V5 and Creo
- Perform engineering studies and simulations to optimize performance, robustness, reliability and manufacturability
- Support prototype assembly, laboratory testing and validation with multidisciplinary teams
- Apply digital engineering methodologies and explore AI-powered tools to improve product development and engineering productivity
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Testing, Manufacturing and Quality teams
- Identify technical risks and support quality, cost and timing objectives
- Stay current with emerging technologies, engineering methods and industry trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Good knowledge of mechanical design principles and product development processes
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering qualification
- Fluent communication in Italian and English
- Experience with 3D CAD design tools
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 and/or Creo highly appreciated
- Basic knowledge of engineering simulation tools and methods, including structural, thermal or multiphysics analysis
- Interest in Artificial Intelligence applications for engineering, simulation and product development
- Knowledge of MATLAB considered a plus
- Knowledge of SAP and PLM (Windchill) environments considered a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
