About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute medium- to high-complexity service activities and provide lifecycle support for ABB DCS systems
- Deliver excellent customer service and drive customer satisfaction and retention
- Communicate service scope, timelines, risks, and resolution plans
- Identify service growth opportunities across the installed base by assessing system performance, lifecycle status, reliability risks, and modernization needs
- Mentor Field Service Engineers and coach technicians and engineers
- Lead complex site activities and provide advanced technical support across ABB teams
- Maintain current knowledge of new technologies
- Work directly with customers at their facilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation
- Strong foundation in electrical knowledge, programming, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Highly skilled in industrial automation, operating systems, industrial software, hardware, computers, and process equipment
- Enjoy working in the energy, utilities, and industrial automation sectors
- Willingness to travel more than 80% of the time across the United States, with occasional international travel
- Comfortable performing physical tasks such as lifting equipment, replacing power supplies, and conducting on-site troubleshooting and repairs
- Comfortable communicating in English
- Current work permit to work in the United States of America
