About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support engineering activities across projects of varying sizes and complexities under the supervision of senior engineers
- Complete tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards
- Collect data and support production of engineering designs
- Review customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements
- Identify and define preliminary scope of work for switchgear and associated components
- Prepare bills of materials, layout drawings, single-line drawings, cable schedules, and specification review documents
- Collaborate with Business Unit engineers to generate technical solutions for ABB MNS products
- Prepare electrical drawings, including general arrangement, SLD, typical wiring, and detailed drawings
- Apply switchgear product standardization and IEC standards, fault-level calculations, switchgear ratings, protection philosophy, and LV switchgear component selection
- Prepare customer-facing closeout/as-built documents
- Support Project Management and Sales teams in customer discussions
- Prepare change-order documents and collaborate with Project Management from bid through execution and handover
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Electrical/ Electronics engineering from reputed university (should be full-time)
- 10 to 15 years of experience in designing Low Voltage Switchgear, including electrical power distribution and Motor Control Centers
- Ability to analyze customer technical documentation and apply ABB product offerings to meet expectations efficiently, while proposing alternative solutions to optimize profitability
- Hands-on experience with Electrical and 2D layout drawing tools such as EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD, etc.
- Strong knowledge of relay protection & control schemes, schematics, and communication network diagrams
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external customers
- Proven capability to deliver design solutions that balance technical accuracy, customer satisfaction, and business objectives
