About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute medium- to high-complexity service work according to work instructions and ABB guidelines
- Deliver excellent customer service and satisfy customer expectations
- Work with customers to identify installed-base opportunities to improve system and operational performance
- Perform complex field service tasks and identify and analyze technical problems through remote or on-site activities
- Plan and prepare site work for larger project teams
- Manage related subcontractors at site
- Plan and execute service work according to customer orders and expectations
- Communicate service work timelines and expectations to support customer retention
- Identify new service business opportunities in cooperation with customers and ABB teams
- Coach technicians and engineers
- Supervise complex site activities
- Report to the Project Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate Engineer in instrumentation, Electrical or Equivalent Engineering degree
- Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 5 years as a customer support, project, or service engineer for System 800xA-based safety systems
- Preferably experience in Oil & Gas / Power & Water industry
- Hands-on experience with System 800xA-based integrated control and safety systems, including hardware and software
- AC800MHI library-based application development, project work, and commissioning experience
- Knowledge of FSMS (functional safety management system)
- Valid Functional Safety certification preferred, such as TUV FS Engineer or ABB certifications
- Knowledge of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 functional safety technical standards
- System engineering practice experience
- Hands-on experience in industrial networking and network switch configuration
- Hands-on experience in cybersecurity for 800xA-based systems
- Analytical thinker, self-starter, resilient, and highly adaptable
- Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and OPC
