About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership and oversee multidisciplinary electrical engineering projects from concept through commissioning
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines
- Ensure technical excellence and manage engineering scope and deliverables
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, project managers, and internal stakeholders
- Lead and support engineering projects within scope, schedule, and quality expectations
- Develop, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables
- Lead customer technical meetings, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings
- Manage engineering scope, technical risks, schedules, and change management with Project Management
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities
- Coordinate and provide technical oversight of vendors and subcontractors
- Support proposal development, engineering estimates, technical risk assessments, and execution planning
- Perform and review power system studies
- Create and review substation and electrical building integration design packages through construction completion
- Develop and review protection and control system designs, including relay selection, settings, configuration, and coordination
- Design, review, and implement power management systems (PMS)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5 or more years of experience in electrical engineering
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Extensive experience in at least two of: power system studies and associated software (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, EasyPower); substation and electrical building design; protection and control system design; industrial automation systems including PMS, SCADA, or DCS
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and codes, including IEEE, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, IEC, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience as Lead Electrical Engineer or Engineering Lead on complex engineering projects
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate technical execution across multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent technical problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Professional Engineering designation (PE) preferred
