About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure ABB systems operational stability on site at a major LNG facility
  • Optimize systems, troubleshoot emergencies, and lead maintenance activities for ABB Medium Voltage drives and motors
  • Oversee and coordinate customer-ABB service requests
  • Direct diagnosis and resolution of technical issues
  • Take ownership of equipment performance and reliability
  • Act as the main point of contact between the customer and ABB
  • Partner with the customer to plan and execute maintenance strategies, including outage planning and support
  • Provide recommendations on spare parts, system improvements, and long-term reliability
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and organizational levels including senior management
  • Advise, coach, and guide customer maintenance personnel on medium voltage drive technologies
  • Deliver service reports and maintain communication across stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or technical engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization, from field technicians to senior management
  • Previous site management experience preferred
  • Experience with Medium Voltage drives and power electronics preferred
  • Knowledge of motors, transformers, switchgear, and industrial communication protocols preferred
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation preferred
  • Ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and around energized systems
  • Willingness to relocate or reside within 30-minute commuting distance of Portland, Texas
