About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow sales with healthcare professionals assigned to the territory
  • Develop customer relationships and serve as an ambassador for Abbott’s FreeStyle products
  • Strengthen Abbott’s overall market presence and expand brand reputation
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas and objectives for ADC products
  • Collaborate with Managed Care, Retail, and Point of Care representatives
  • Establish relationships with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, CDEs, and other healthcare constituents
  • Maintain current knowledge of internal and competitive products, market trends, and competitor strategies
  • Plan and execute short- and long-term territory, account, and call plans
  • Position products and services using appropriate resources and tailored sales approaches
  • Handle disagreements and objections tactfully
  • Track and report progress against plans
  • Complete administrative tasks and document daily activity in the call reporting/tracking system
  • Maintain accountability for product samples according to Division guidelines
  • Work within quality and compliance guidelines and maintain quality-system effectiveness
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years previous experience with commendable sales track record, preferably in the health care industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High energy, integrity, and ambition to succeed
  • Strong preference for candidates with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Diabetes clinical knowledge preferred
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Ability to perform continuous standing and walking for prolonged periods
  • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
