About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide, coach, and direct a team providing direct service and support to Abbott Diagnostics Division customers
  • Promote ADD products and strengthen the company’s reputation through exceptional customer service and technical support
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
  • Apply knowledge of diagnostics systems and products to ensure adequate customer support and service
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with quality-system requirements
  • Operate within financial-budget constraints and support budget development
  • Provide technical direction and ensure staff are trained on required technologies and applications
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend operational improvements
  • Track product complaints and reliability, prepare reports, and recommend service improvements
  • Coach, mentor, conduct performance reviews, and assist with development planning
  • Build, motivate, and inspire an effective team; make staffing decisions
  • Interact with customers, field service/support personnel, and local Sales staff
  • Negotiate with customers to resolve service issues and improve relationships
  • Coordinate support levels with service, support, and sales districts
  • Analyze departmental issues, performance data, trends, and business/customer impact
  • Ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory agencies
  • Interview and select candidates; ensure timely staffing with qualified personnel
  • Provide input to department budgeting, planning, projects, and resource requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 4+ years of customer support experience
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience in the diagnostics industry or in a lab environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics (preferred)
  • Candidates must reside in the Texas and New Mexico territory
  • Up to 50% travel, including overnights
