About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, upgrade, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on vascular capital equipment and diagnostic equipment in Cath labs
- Provide hardware/software field support, including system installation, maintenance, calibration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair
- Maintain and prepare demo systems for congresses
- Document field service interventions according to QA system requirements
- Report capital equipment incidents according to QA system requirements
- Support and provide technical assistance for in-house training courses and congresses
- Train customer biomedical engineering departments, Abbott sales staff, and field clinical staff on system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Work closely with clinicians, central dispatch, and the sales team
- Drive customer satisfaction through service excellence
- Travel extensively nationally and internationally according to business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ideally based in Peterborough, Leicestershire, or Northampton
- Full eligibility to work in the UK and travel to the EU/Ireland without a visa requirement
- Prior experience in electronics service is required
- Experience with medical devices/software-based medical systems is advantageous
- Strong electronic or mechanical engineering skills, including troubleshooting
- Computer skills: MS Office and Linux
- Familiarity with Cath lab/operating room procedures/protocols is advantageous
- Willingness to be flexible, respond at short notice to scheduling requirements, and work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Extensive national and international travel required
- 80% travel in the first two years
