About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish the marketing vision and annual objectives, goals, strategies, and key initiatives for the US marketing organization
- Manage and coach a high-performing team and conduct performance assessments
- Execute global product launch planning, including business objectives, product positioning, and key selling messages
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop revenue growth programs, competitive insight, and proactive positioning
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and allocate resources to business goals
- Lead product commercialization strategy and tactic planning and execution
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to develop and drive marketing strategies
- Serve as the Heart Failure team's focal point for CardioMEMS product and market knowledge, planning, execution, and business objectives
- Direct and coordinate Marketing and Market Development activities
- Establish project priorities and allocate resources and workload
- Analyze competitive offerings and develop product positioning and differentiation tools
- Ensure training and education for personnel using or applying division products
- Develop and execute marketing strategies through cross-divisional collaboration
- Analyze executed strategies against sales and profit objectives
- Develop integrated marketing plans to drive product mix and grow Abbott's Heart Failure franchise
- Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate team members and support personnel
- Prepare and manage the annual department budget
- Hire and retain qualified staff and manage execution through coaching and mentoring
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment
- Comply with FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures
- Maintain positive communications and collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business, science/engineering, nursing, or equivalent
- 10+ years of progressively responsible business experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical company or equivalent
- 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience, including prior manager-level leadership experience at a medical technology company preferred
- Extensive experience including launch of US medical products
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to prioritize projects aligned with corporate priorities
- Strong leadership skills, including setting goals and providing feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, changing team environment
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to travel up to 35%
- Cardiology experience, especially within the heart failure space, preferred
- Field experience a plus
- Experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
- MBA preferred
