About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish the marketing vision and annual objectives, goals, strategies, and key initiatives for the US marketing organization
  • Manage a team of high-performing individuals and provide formal and informal coaching
  • Conduct regular performance assessments
  • Execute global product launch planning, including business objectives, product positioning, and key selling messages
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop revenue growth programs, competitive insight, and proactive positioning
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets
  • Allocate resources to meet established business goals
  • Lead product commercialization strategy and tactic planning and execution
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to develop and drive marketing strategies
  • Serve as the Heart Failure team focal point for CardioMEMS product and market knowledge, planning/execution, and business objectives
  • Direct and coordinate Marketing and Market Development activities
  • Establish marketing project priorities and allocate resources and workload
  • Analyze competition and develop product positioning and differentiation tools
  • Ensure appropriate training and education for personnel using or applying division products
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies through cross-divisional collaboration, planning, and influence
  • Analyze strategy results to ensure sales and profit objectives are achieved
  • Develop integrated marketing plans with internal business partners to drive product mix and grow Abbott’s Heart Failure franchise
  • Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate team members and support group personnel
  • Prepare and manage the annual department budget
  • Hire and retain diverse, highly qualified staff and manage execution through coaching and mentoring
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and positive collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science/engineering, nursing, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible business experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical company or equivalent
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience at a managerial (supervisory) level, including prior manager-level leadership experience at a medical technology company preferred
  • Extensive experience including launch of US medical products
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize projects aligned with corporate priorities
  • Strong leadership skills, including setting goals and providing respectful positive and constructive feedback
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills; ability to hold others accountable
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, changing team environment
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to travel up to 35%
  • MBA preferred
  • Cardiology experience, especially within the heart failure space
  • Field experience a plus
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
  • Ability to comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements
