Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell the full stack of Molecular products to hospitals, IDNs, reference labs, and women’s health offices
  • Drive exponential growth in the assigned territory through new business and expansion of existing business
  • Work with multiple stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to expedite complex decisions
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across the territory
  • Develop and deploy best practices using customer insights
  • Prioritize and plan effectively to streamline business operations
  • Leverage cross-functional teams and resources
  • Build trust and long-term customer partnerships by understanding needs and delivering win-win solutions
  • Anticipate sales shortfalls and implement contingency plans
  • Manage complex, long-term capital sales cycles
  • Understand client goals across laboratory, procurement, medical director, clinical engineering, and C-suite stakeholders
  • Quantify the impact of Abbott solutions
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager to secure business in large hospital systems
  • Manage and drive renewals for non-enterprise accounts to ensure retention and satisfaction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of sales experience
  • Proven success in strategic sales, including exceeding plans and turning around underperforming territories
  • Innovation and change management skills
  • Strong business planning process and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Must currently live in the southern part of the Philadelphia area
  • Easy access to a major metropolitan airport
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred: sales experience in diagnostics or laboratory
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in capital equipment sales
  • Preferred: experience in capital sales and/or multi-stakeholder environments, developing and selling customized solutions to senior-level/C-suite executives
  • Preferred: commitment to customers and service-minded approach
  • Preferred: logical, timely decision-making based on analysis and experience
  • Preferred: proper call documentation
  • Preferred: effective oral and written communication
  • Preferred: ability to persuade others and proactively improve conditions and processes
  • Preferred: polished, professional interpersonal and customer-interfacing skills
  • Preferred: ability to learn technical and scientific knowledge and use it in selling situations
