About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement plans to maximize utilization of Abbott Precision Oncology products in targeted accounts
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory through field-based calls and meetings with healthcare providers, including oncologists and their staffs
  • Sell company products and services, develop new accounts, and drive depth within existing accounts
  • Manage territory planning and implementation
  • Analyze competitors and market trends affecting customer product utilization
  • Maintain comprehensive customer, contact, and account records in the CRM system
  • Build and maintain relationships with oncology and pathology national opinion leaders and territory stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including managed care, reimbursement, Advocacy, providers, sales management, and marketing
  • Support access to Abbott products and communicate product sales and marketing messages
  • Complete training programs and maintain knowledge of genomic testing, Precision Oncology products, cancer disease states, clinical research, and competitors
  • Attend sales meetings and professional conferences around the United States as needed
  • Travel 75% of working time, including possible overnight and weekend travel
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or another related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology, diagnostics, or similar healthcare products
  • 1+ years of oncology experience selling chemo/immunotherapy or oncology diagnostics
  • Exemplary track record in the diagnostic space with sales performance
  • Proven territory or account management skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months
  • No alcohol or drug-related vehicle event in the last 36 months
  • No unacceptable liability findings in the Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Experience selling oncology-related diagnostics preferred
  • Experience selling to providers within cancer centers preferred
  • Strong relationships within major oncology and surgical accounts within the territory preferred
  • Experience in NextGen Sequencing, Minimal Residual Disease, comprehensive genomic profiling, liquid biopsy, and/or hereditary cancer preferred
