About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and develop strategic relationships with clinical trial sites, investigators, and research teams
- Support clinical trial execution from site identification and qualification through activation, enrollment, monitoring, and closeout
- Maximize patient screening opportunities and achieve enrollment objectives
- Identify enrollment barriers and implement recruitment and study-performance solutions
- Maintain knowledge of site capabilities, research infrastructure, and investigator interests
- Facilitate communication between clinical sites and Abbott teams
- Serve as a subject matter expert for TAVI clinical programs and investigational technologies
- Provide procedural guidance and technical support during investigational TAVI procedures
- Support physicians and healthcare teams with procedural planning, device utilization, and protocol adherence
- Partner with commercial field teams when procedural expertise is required
- Ensure proper application of study protocols and patient eligibility criteria
- Design and deliver education for physicians, research coordinators, physician assistants, nurses, and Cath Lab personnel
- Train healthcare professionals on investigational devices, clinical protocols, procedural best practices, and study requirements
- Develop content for investigator meetings, conferences, physician training programs, and internal initiatives
- Communicate clinical data, trial objectives, and evidence-based recommendations
- Collaborate with Clinical Affairs and Medical Affairs teams on current and future research
- Support study design, enrollment strategies, trial performance, and diverse patient enrollment
- Partner with Engineering, Clinical Affairs, and Product Development on next-generation TAVI platforms
- Provide clinical insights for product enhancements and innovation
- Participate in pre-clinical and clinical evaluations, including First-in-Human, Early Feasibility, and IDE trials
- Mentor and develop Field Clinical Specialists
- Lead cross-functional projects and assist with onboarding, coaching, and personnel development
- Identify operational improvements and process standardization opportunities
- Conduct activities in accordance with FDA regulations, GCP guidelines, company policies, quality requirements, and study protocols
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation and communication of clinical activities
- Build collaborative relationships with customers, physicians, investigators, and internal partners
- Work cross-functionally with Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Medical Directors, Program Management, Global Clinical Organization, R&D, Engineering, Marketing, and Commercial Structural Heart teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree with 13+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or master’s/advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant discipline in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Research, or related healthcare/scientific field
- Significant experience supporting implants and procedures involving complex transcatheter valve technologies
- Extensive experience within a structural heart or transcatheter valve medical device organization
- Previous experience training physicians and healthcare staff on advanced cardiovascular procedures
- Minimum 4 years of clinical research experience, preferably within Field Clinical Affairs or Medical Device Clinical Operations
- Strong understanding of TAVI/TAVR procedures, clinical trial execution, Cath Lab workflows, Hybrid Operating Room environments, and structural heart disease therapies
- Experience managing physician relationships and supporting high-volume clinical centers
- Deep clinical and procedural knowledge of structural heart therapies
- Exceptional presentation and physician training skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% to 75%, including overnight travel; US and OUS
