About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and control manufacturing process defects, including scrap, nonconforming material, and customer complaints
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Query and bound data to support complex implementation and document release criteria
  • Develop product quality plans, product specifications, quality specifications, and quality systems
  • Create risk analyses and FMEAs
  • Develop process monitoring systems to reduce process variation and defects
  • Lead process improvement efforts and analyze quality metric data
  • Assist in creating quality tools and training materials
  • Build internal and external resource networks
  • Lead moderate-scope project teams
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff
  • Plan and prioritize daily work to meet established schedules
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures
  • Travel approximately 5% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum two years related work experience
  • Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures
  • General understanding of business unit/group function
  • Ability to meet compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures
  • Required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree
