About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and control manufacturing process defects, including scrap, nonconforming material and customer complaints
  • Participate in root-cause identification and corrective and preventive action efforts
  • Query and bound data to support complex implementation and documented release criteria
  • Develop product quality plans, product specifications, quality specifications and quality systems
  • Create risk analyses and FMEAs
  • Develop process monitoring systems and reduce process variation
  • Lead process improvement efforts and analyze quality metric data
  • Assist in creating quality tools and training materials
  • Cultivate internal and external professional networks
  • Lead moderate-scope project teams when assigned
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff
  • Plan and prioritize daily work to meet established schedules
  • Exercise judgment within defined limits
  • Meet FDA, OSHA and Abbott compliance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum two years related work experience
  • Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures
  • General understanding of business unit/group function
  • Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Must complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire
  • Ability to meet FDA, OSHA and Abbott compliance standards and policies
