About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive new business growth by identifying, prospecting, and converting zero-billing and competitive accounts within the assigned territory
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans using market intelligence, customer insights, and data analytics
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through contract negotiation, closing, and successful account transition
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines, account plans, and revenue forecasts using CRM and business intelligence tools
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, Contracts, and Technical Services
  • Build relationships with healthcare professionals, administrators, distributors, and key decision-makers
  • Communicate Abbott’s value proposition and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Achieve annual new business targets across Abbott point-of-care and infectious-disease diagnostic product lines
  • Penetrate untapped accounts and expand Abbott’s footprint in the infectious-disease diagnostics space

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years proven success in relevant sales experience
  • Track record of success with competitive conversions, from lead generations to close
  • Demonstrated individual contributor experience including problem solving, complex selling, planning and execution
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory 4 days/week, with up to approximately 50% overnight travel
  • Medical sales experience, ideally diagnostics
  • Understanding of laboratory and point-of-care settings, health system operations, and health economics
  • Experience working with distribution partners
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze healthcare market data
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and documented success in a team selling environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization
  • Skilled negotiator with a strong track record of securing agreements that support organizational objectives and customer priorities
