About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead estimation of enhancement or support requests
- Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues
- Liaise with business stakeholders and software vendor implementation staff
- Identify opportunities to improve business workflows through technology
- Participate in training and work with end users
- Troubleshoot problems and questions
- Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems
- Review project and issue status with project leadership
- Assign or delegate configuration and other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members
- Act as delegate for the Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution
- Mentor peers and junior analysts and provide leadership in problem solving
- Lead internal process design and documentation for continuous IT improvement
- Support business systems design, configuration, upgrades, improvements, impact analysis, and platform performance
- Work within cross-functional teams and uphold Abbott’s mission, values, and Quality Management System policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role
- Subject Matter Expert in one or more of: patient identification workflows in the healthcare setting, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry
- Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation
- Applicable Epic certifications preferred, especially Epic Cheers, MyChart, and Care Everywhere
- Experience configuring business systems software in a life sciences, health care, or related industry preferred
- Professional working knowledge in Health Care or Biotechnology preferred
- Professional working knowledge with agile delivery methodologies preferred
- Ability to work normal business hours and on-call, with potential for nights and weekends
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day
- Ability to comply with applicable personal protective equipment requirements
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional and complex matrix environment
- Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to changing needs
- Ability to operate telephone system, computer keyboard, and printer
