About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead estimation of enhancement or support requests
  • Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues
  • Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor implementation staff
  • Align business needs with delivery of systems changes
  • Develop understanding of operational needs and set direction for organizational workflows
  • Identify opportunities to improve business workflows through technology
  • Participate in training and work with end users
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions
  • Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems
  • Review project and issue status with project leadership
  • Assign or delegate configuration and other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members
  • Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution
  • Mentor peers and junior analysts
  • Lead internal process design and documentation for continuous improvement
  • Work within cross-functional and complex matrix teams
  • Communicate with project leadership, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions in an application analyst or project delivery role
  • Subject Matter Expert in one or more of: patient identification workflows in healthcare, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry
  • Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation
  • Current certification in Epic Beaker CP or EpicCare Link preferred
  • Additional relevant Epic certifications preferred, including Epic Genomics, Epic Aura, Epic Beaker AP, Epic Ambulatory, or Epic Orders
  • Experience supporting or configuring Epic Aura workflows, especially from a reference lab perspective, preferred
  • Experience in a health system, reference laboratory, biotechnology, or life sciences environment preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple Epic applications and cross-functional Epic workflows preferred
  • Experience supporting clinical laboratory operations, pathology, genetics, or oncology workflows preferred
  • Experience leading medium-to-large Epic projects, upgrades, workflow optimizations, or major application enhancements preferred
  • Ability to work normal business hours and on-call, with potential for nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day
  • Ability to comply with applicable personal protective equipment requirements
