About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement territory plans to maximize utilization of Abbott Cancer Diagnostics products in targeted accounts while staying within budget
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives in an assigned geographic territory through field-based calls and meetings with healthcare providers and staff
  • Sell company products and services, develop new accounts, and increase depth within existing accounts
  • Manage, plan, and implement strategic, results-oriented territory activities
  • Deliver key selling messages and high-level customer service
  • Address territory-related clinical and political issues
  • Drive growth through knowledge of disease states, competition, and market influences
  • Complete training and work proficiently with genomic testing and Precision Oncology products
  • Maintain technical fluency in Exact Sciences products and competing products to influence physicians and stakeholders toward patient access and product utilization
  • Provide feedback to national, regional, and area teams to support accurate business decisions
  • Work with managed care, reimbursement stakeholders, patients, patient support groups, advocacy groups, and providers to ensure product access
  • Build relationships with national oncology and pathology opinion leaders in the territory
  • Attend sales meetings and professional conferences around the U.S. as needed
  • Maintain communication with internal employees, managers, and customers
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Maintain reliable attendance and work the designated schedule
  • Travel 75% of working time, potentially including overnight and weekend travel
  • Work seated and standing for approximately 50% of a typical working day and lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 15% of a typical working day

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or another related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of sales experience with a strong record of success selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology, diagnostics, or similar healthcare products
  • 3+ years of medical sales experience in specialty areas including Buy & Bill, Medical Device, or highly clinical specialties such as urology, cardiology, or GI
  • 3+ years of experience selling in a highly competitive environment
  • Demonstrated clinical and scientific expertise
  • Demonstrated strong territory or account management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of competitors and market trends impacting product utilization
  • Valid driver's license with no suspended, revoked, surrendered, or invalid status
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months
  • No alcohol or drug event involving driving within the last 36 months
  • No other unacceptable-liability results from the Motor Vehicle Report check
  • Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • 1+ years of oncology experience selling chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or oncology diagnostics preferred
  • Strong relationships within oncology accounts in the territory preferred
  • Experience selling to surgeons and cancer centers preferred
  • Experience with NextGen Sequencing, Minimal Residual Disease, comprehensive genomic profiling, liquid biopsy, and/or hereditary cancer preferred
