About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, develop, and recommend technical software solutions throughout the product lifecycle
- Understand business processes and conceptualize innovative efficiency solutions
- Drive and track product strategy and roadmap execution through release plans, sprint grooming, sprint planning, and software delivery
- Gather and define user needs and business requirements and translate them into epics and prioritized user-story backlogs
- Support clinical genomics sample-to-answer workflows
- Analyze product requirements, user needs, pain points, and business opportunities to devise product growth strategies
- Manage and track requirements throughout product and development lifecycles
- Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to define and complete software product strategy, roadmap, and requirements
- Produce flow diagrams, process and dataflow maps, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed product requirements
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, user documentation, and presentations
- Provide business-area expertise to developers and software QA during the SDLC
- Support QA teams in developing verification, integration, and validation test plans and protocols
- Apply Agile methods, tools, and processes
- Create documentation for SDLC and computer systems validation efforts
- Provide end-user support for service requests as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including clinical development, laboratory operations, medical affairs, bioinformatics, engineering, QA, architects, vendors, and contractors
- Uphold company mission, values, quality management system policies, and procedures
- Potentially lead and mentor junior product owners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field; or Bachelor's Degree in one of these fields plus 2 years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum or equivalent software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to bring product/project to successful completion
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Proven experience developing complex and sophisticated software and informatics solutions supporting next-generation sequencing workflows
- 1+ years of managing and coaching a team (preferred)
- Excellent strategic and analytical capabilities and strong business and technical acumen
- Effective written and verbal communication across broad disciplines
- Technical competence with Jira, Confluence, JAMA, Miro, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work on multiple software development products/projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel 10% between local Exact Sciences locations and 10% of working time away from the work location
- Ability to work seated approximately 50% of a typical working day and standing approximately 50%
- Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or computer screen and type approximately 95% of a typical working day
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation

- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
