About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maximize business opportunities for approved Parkinson’s disease products
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Movement Disorder Specialists, Neurologists, advanced practice providers, healthcare professionals, nurses, executives, department managers, and support staff
  • Educate customers on product benefits and risks and raise awareness of therapeutic gaps in accordance with approved labels
  • Develop new business, expand existing business, maximize resource utilization, and increase sales to achieve the assigned product portfolio sales plan
  • Build and maintain compliant relationships with Parkinson’s advocacy organizations, support groups, and patient-support organizations
  • Deliver on-label technical and scientific presentations and sales calls using approved data and resources
  • Understand and address customer needs and build account relationships that benefit patients and healthcare professionals
  • Partner with AbbVie field and in-house teams to identify, design, or adapt approaches and tactics
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact for targeted accounts in the assigned geography
  • Address customer and patient needs through knowledge of AbbVie’s environment-of-care approach
  • Create, implement, and communicate strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts
  • Monitor and report sales progress and provide routine stakeholder communications
  • Attend and participate in neurology society meetings, conferences, patient programs, support groups, and advocacy events, including some evenings or weekends
  • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at events to build relationships and educate on products
  • Channel key information, developments, and findings to internal stakeholders
  • Create and develop business strategies and territory account plans, align resources, and adjust tactics as needed
  • Remain current on clinical, market, payer, and Parkinson’s disease developments, trends, and issues
  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures
  • Meet HCIR credentialing requirements for entry into assigned facilities and organizations
  • Represent AbbVie as a partner of choice in Parkinson’s disease and neuroscience with healthcare professionals and patient organizations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • 3+ years of health science field or sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • In lieu of degree: 8+ years of health science sales experience, including a minimum of 4 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven record of managing multiple stakeholders in complex environments
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain them
  • May need to complete background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
  • Must complete required company training and follow company policies and OEC/Legal procedures
  • Must drive a personal auto or company car/truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
