About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maximize business opportunities for approved on-market Parkinson’s disease drug-device combination products
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Movement Disorder Specialists, neurologists, advanced practice providers, healthcare professionals, nurses, executives, department managers, and support staff
  • Increase education on product benefits and risks and awareness of therapeutic gaps, consistent with approved labels
  • Develop new business, expand current business, maximize resource utilization, and increase sales to achieve the assigned product portfolio sales plan
  • Build and maintain compliant relationships with Parkinson’s advocacy organizations, support groups, and other patient-support groups
  • Deliver effective on-label technical and scientific presentations and sales calls using approved data and resources
  • Understand and address customer needs and build account relationships that benefit patients and healthcare professionals
  • Partner with AbbVie in-field and in-house teams to identify, design, or adapt approaches and tactics
  • Serve as lead US Commercial contact for targeted accounts in the assigned geography
  • Create, implement, and communicate strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts
  • Monitor and report sales progress and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend and participate in neurology society meetings, conferences, patient programs, support groups, and advocacy events, including some evenings and weekends
  • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at events to build relationships and provide product education
  • Channel key information, developments, and findings to internal stakeholders
  • Develop territory account plans, align resources, execute tactics, and adjust strategies based on account, customer, and geographic dynamics
  • Remain current on clinical, market, payer, and Parkinson’s Disease developments and trends
  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with company policies and legal procedures
  • Meet healthcare industry representative credentialing requirements for facility and organization access
  • Represent AbbVie as a partner of choice in the Parkinson’s and Neuroscience space with healthcare professionals and patient organizations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • 3+ years of health science field or sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Alternatively, 8+ years of health science sales experience, including a minimum of 4 years in pharmaceutical sales, in lieu of degree
  • Ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
  • May require background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
  • Ability to drive a personal auto or company car/truck, or operate powered material-handling equipment
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Completion of all required AbbVie training and adherence to company policies and OEC/Legal procedures
