About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform all aspects of account management
  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with corporate and senior management staff in key accounts
  • Establish multi-level relationships to increase representative access, develop new business, maximize resource utilization, and increase sales and market share
  • Work with Federal Account Executive teams to manage and identify key target account opportunities within the VA
  • Develop product strategies to penetrate target accounts
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to regional and district teams within AbbVie’s Psychiatry Retail Franchise
  • Advise sales and marketing management on challenges and opportunities within key target accounts
  • Analyze and support channel-specific training needs within the region
  • Develop annual business plans to increase sales volume and market share across FDA-approved indications
  • Identify local opportunities and threats and modify business plans accordingly
  • Analyze financial and quantitative data
  • Assess the business impact and profitability of target account opportunities
  • Partner with Field Sales Managers to evaluate and penetrate non-retail account drivers within MSAs
  • Drive target account volume and share growth through analysis, recommendations, and execution by District Managers and representatives
  • Cover VA inpatient community mental health centers and hospitals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of sales or account management experience
  • 3+ years of Health Science Field or Sales experience, including a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • In lieu of degree: 8+ years of Health Science Sales experience, including a minimum of 4 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in complex environments
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance of Nashville, TN
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
