About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote a product to meet or exceed sales goals in community/private practices and hospitals/health systems
  • Identify and uncover customer needs, including training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement needs
  • Address customer needs with appropriate AbbVie resources
  • Provide education and clinical/injection training for residents, fellows, and key hospital personnel
  • Deliver anatomical and procedural information and training, including anatomical terminology, injection paradigms/postures, and anatomical and injection insights
  • Utilize AbbVie sales and data resources to enhance productivity and product growth while implementing the U.S. Marketing Plan
  • Collaborate with other Account Specialists to promote the product for approved indications
  • Execute individual, department, or group resident/fellow trainings within hospital/health system accounts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community/private practices, hospitals, academic medical centers, government accounts, and relevant clinical departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree: at least five (5) years of technical experience, with three (3) or more years of sales experience preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products preferred, in health systems and private practice
  • Ability to lift/pull 25–100 lb. training models
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing and vaccination requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
  • Documented history of strong sales performance preferred, preferably in a clinical/technical/consultative sales role with multiple decision makers
  • Ability to manage a complex sell
  • Ability to learn procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information quickly
  • Ability to communicate, present, and train to a variety of audiences
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required credentials
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
