About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote products to meet or exceed sales goals in community/private practices, hospitals, and health systems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with neurology, pain medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pharmacy, urology, urogynecology, obstetrics and gynecology, female pelvic medicine, ambulatory surgical centers, and reconstructive surgery accounts
  • Identify customer needs, including training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement needs
  • Address customer needs using appropriate AbbVie resources
  • Provide education and clinical/injection training to residents, fellows, and hospital personnel
  • Deliver anatomical and procedural information and training, including injection paradigms, postures, and anatomical considerations
  • Use AbbVie sales and data resources to enhance productivity and product growth while implementing the U.S. Marketing Plan
  • Collaborate with other Account Specialists to promote products for approved indications
  • Execute individual, department, and group resident/fellow trainings within hospital and health system accounts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • At least five (5) years of technical experience with three (3) or more years of sales experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products preferred
  • Experience in health systems and private practice preferred
  • Ability to lift/pull 25–100 lb. training models
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
  • Documented strong sales performance preferred
  • Ability to manage complex sales and learn procedural, technical, clinical, and anatomical information quickly
  • Ability to communicate, present, and train varied audiences
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
