About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a field-based alternative in-office resource for HCP questions about patient access
- Call directly on HCP offices within an assigned geography
- Educate HCPs on patient support programs, access and reimbursement tools, and services
- Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options, including specialty pharmacy networks, specialty distribution, and white-bagging support
- Provide resources to address access issues
- Provide local expertise on national and regional payer policies, payer issues, coding changes, and claims submission processes
- Liaise with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center to update HCPs on prescription status and program eligibility
- Report payer trends for approved products to Patient Services and Market Access account management teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate providers within the territory
- Remain current on managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities
- Travel 75% of the time
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 3 years of experience in immunology with experience in Market Access, Payer Account Management, and/or Access and Reimbursement
- Thorough understanding of technical payer policy processes, systems, and requirements for coverage, coding, and payment for specialty medicines
- Understanding of rules, regulations, and risks associated with reimbursement support services
- Ability to communicate technical coding and billing requirements at the national and regional level across all settings of care
- Comprehensive understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D and associated reimbursement dynamics
- Understanding of drug acquisition and dispensing in the immunology specialty biologics space, including Buy and Bill, specialty pharmacies, and specialty distributors
- Understanding of access and reimbursement support service centers and compliant interaction practices
- Excellent territory and account management skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid driver’s license
