About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, and execute AbbVie programs supporting treatment delivery for infused therapy offerings in the Gastroenterology business unit
  • Prospect and establish business-to-business relationships with local sites of care and develop and execute account/partner business plans
  • Oversee site-of-care strategy development, execution, and measurement
  • Coordinate with internal partners to develop, execute, and measure activities that maximize pull-through through coordinated business planning
  • Maximize site-of-care opportunities in accordance with product labeling, strategic imperatives, and company policies
  • Execute against defined management-by-objectives goals
  • Provide therapy and clinical procedure overviews to assigned site-of-care customers and partners, coordinating with Medical Affairs as needed
  • Identify gaps in existing site-of-care networks and develop plans to expand site-of-care options
  • Pull through national partnership contracts at the local level
  • Develop business cases to support contracts and execute and manage them for optimal results when applicable
  • Provide ongoing access-related education, including coding and billing
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with site-of-care administrative leaders
  • Understand healthcare issues and strategies, customer issues and trends, and best practices
  • Serve as lead point of contact with sales, patient services, and reimbursement access functions
  • Evaluate, develop, monitor, and measure partnerships and business plans against profit, growth, and value objectives
  • Develop and grow relationships with appropriate account stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver business presentations and reviews to customers and partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 4 years of pharma/medical industry experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with market access/site-of-care customer segments and reimbursement, including commercial and government payers and billing/coding, with infused products
  • Direct experience identifying and activating sites of care in infusion service areas, including national/regional infusion service providers, specialty pharmacies, infusion management companies, and buy-and-bill physician office practices
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions while recognizing when supervisory input is essential
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments
  • Demonstrated integrity on the job
  • Innovation in account approaches and practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize issues in the context of higher-level policies and regulations
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to meet date-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, high-urgency environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel 70–75% of the time
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
