About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and gain calls to action to close sales calls
- Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
- Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Collaborate with specialty physicians, pharmacists, nurses, field teams, sales management, marketing, training, customer excellence, and brand-plan stakeholders
- Travel approximately 25% of the time
- Work in a field-based role covering Eastern North Carolina, including Greenville, Fayetteville, and Wilmington
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements
- Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required credentials
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination verification, fingerprinting, and specific state or city license requirements as applicable
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must meet safe driving requirements
