About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute brand strategy and field tactics
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize sales performance
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and secure calls to action during sales calls
- Serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements
- Develop and execute call plans that optimize customer coverage and frequency
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
- Share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Cover the Trenton, Hamilton, Camden, Cinnaminson, Northeast Philadelphia, Bensalem, Langhorne, Abington, and Ambler territory
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience
- At least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
- Three or more years of pharmaceutical/health/science industry experience preferred
- High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain them
- Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style and behavior
- Ability to develop sales strategies from findings and market intelligence
