About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute neuroscience brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings to secure calls to action
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers and develop disease-state experts and speakers/advocates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
  • Relevant equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required when using the experience alternative
  • Proven track record of leadership success
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach quickly
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Pharmaceutical commercial industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
  • English language proficiency preferred for non-English-speaking countries
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain them
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Must meet safe driving requirements
  • Valid driver’s license
