About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections and secure calls to action during sales calls
- Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
- Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
- Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales-management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
- Live within a reasonable distance from Denton, TX, as this is a field-based role
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- At least five (5) years of experience, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry, required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- High school diploma/GED required when using the experience alternative
- Proven track record of leadership success
- Solid presentation skills
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
- English language proficiency preferred for non-English-speaking countries
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements
- Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, and fingerprinting may be required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must meet safe driving requirements
