About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales calls
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
  • Analyze customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales data
  • Share market intelligence with field teams, brand teams, and sales managers
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Leadership and support experience at district, region, and/or organizational levels
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
