About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings to achieve calls to action and close sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
  • Monitor customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales information
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience
  • Relevant equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required when using industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Leadership and support experience at district, region, and/or organizational levels
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain them
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
