About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
- Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
- Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
- Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
- Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings to gain calls to action and close sales calls
- Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
- Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
- Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
- Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- At least five (5) years of experience, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, for candidates qualifying through experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Proven track record of success in selling
- Solid presentation skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Must meet safe driving requirements
