Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts

  • Create pre-call plans and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and gain calls to action during sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships
  • Develop and execute call plans optimizing customer coverage and frequency
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience
  • At least five (5) years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three (3) or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
  • High school diploma/GED required when using the experience alternative
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Ability to satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required HCIR credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Must meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
