About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute brand strategy and sales tactics in the field
Manage assigned territory and targeted accounts
Build customer relationships and solve customer needs
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations
Handle objections and close sales calls with logical calls to action
Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships
Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
Travel approximately 25% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
At least five (5) years of experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
High school diploma/GED required when using experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Proven track record of leadership success
Solid presentation skills
Strong business acumen
Proficient use of business tools
Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
English language proficiency preferred for non-English-speaking countries
Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
Must meet safe driving requirements
