About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales calls
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage and sales opportunities
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical topics, and sales
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales management teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time across the Greater Orlando and Tampa territory

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years of experience, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills
  • Scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Documented leadership and support experience at district, region, or organizational levels
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing
  • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and be eligible to obtain required credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings
