About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own revenue accounting for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including complex revenue entries, deferred revenue and unbilled rollforwards, and revenue flux review
  • Review complex new and amended customer contracts, identifying performance obligations, determining transaction price, allocating standalone selling price, and flagging non-standard terms
  • Serve as escalation point for complicated contract modifications
  • Own accounting for consideration payable to customers, including service credits and equity-based customer incentives such as warrants
  • Maintain standalone selling price analysis
  • Own accounting for partner revenue-share arrangements and capitalized contract costs under ASC 340-40
  • Research and draft technical accounting memos covering stock-based compensation, financings, preferred stock, M&A, purchase accounting, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 350-40
  • Coordinate with auditors and external advisors to settle technical positions before audit completion
  • Maintain revenue recognition and related accounting policies
  • Explain complex accounting matters to commercial, product, and executive stakeholders
  • Design and build agentic systems that extract agreement terms and draft accounting treatments and entries for review
  • Define agent workflows, human review points, controls, audit trails, and exception paths
  • Co-own oversight and continuous improvement of the revenue agent
  • Partner with Systems on data flow from Salesforce and contract management systems into the ERP
  • Develop agent-assisted technical research workflows and memo records
  • Serve as primary Big 4 audit contact for revenue and technical accounting, including PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and technical queries
  • Draft revenue and technical accounting sections of annual financial statements and footnotes
  • Design and document revenue controls, including controls over agentic systems, for public-company readiness
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Revenue & Technical Accounting and collaborate with GL Accounting, FinOps, Systems, RevOps, Legal, Deal Desk, and Big 4 auditors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Assurance or Accounting Advisory experience at a Big 4 firm at Senior to Manager level
  • Very strong technical accounting foundation with exposure across revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, financings, M&A, and leases
  • Active CPA license
  • Hands-on ASC 606 experience in any industry
  • Experience writing technical memos accepted by auditors, or evaluating technical memos as an auditor
  • Experience building apps, scripts, or automations, or eagerness to build agentic AI workflows
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or AI tools
  • Ability to design end-to-end workflows including data, controls, and exception handling
  • Ability to explain complex accounting conclusions clearly
  • Ability to work in the San Francisco office on a regular hybrid schedule (M/W/F)
