About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex government contracts
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific requirements
  • Advise throughout the product build and government contracting lifecycle
  • Support government sales strategy and solicitation review
  • Support bid submission, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing regulatory and government contract compliance
  • Improve commercial legal templates, playbooks, and processes
  • Facilitate automation and efficiencies with the Legal Ops team
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments
  • Work with and manage outside counsel on complex and novel questions
  • Support other aspects of the commercial legal function when government-contracting work is slower
  • Collaborate with sales, partner success, security, product, technical, and commercial legal teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in a legal function, including at least 3 years advising on government contracting and related compliance
  • Ability to advise on government contract implementation and ongoing compliance
  • Ability to translate contract obligations into internal processes and assess adherence
  • Ability to manage tight timelines, competing priorities, and a high volume of contracts
  • Passion for Abridge’s mission and ability to support a fast-moving commercial team
  • Customer-service mindset and collaborative approach to negotiations
  • Ability to work independently in a small team prioritizing autonomy and trust
  • Proven cross-functional work with technical, security, and sales teams
  • Ability to build relationships and earn stakeholder confidence
  • Creativity in solving novel contractual matters and crafting new contractual approaches and language
  • Familiarity with bid protest proceedings helpful but not required
  • Experience in healthcare or healthcare technology helpful but not required
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to comply with Abridge’s AI policy during the interview process
